Scania has developed a concept of a driverless, self-propelled heavy truck

Scania is already active in the field of automated commercial vehicles, and now the truck manufacturer has launched a model that is unusual in its own right: The AXL concept truck does not require a driver's cab and there is no longer a human driver on board. The model looks like a moving trough and is to be used above all "at well-controlled locations such as mines or large construction sites".

Together with Intel, Rolls-Royce is developing a robotic ship that is scheduled to set sail in six years.

Here, a logistics system monitors the commercial vehicle and can assign driving tasks to it. Like an oversized DTS (driverless transport system), the AXL can thus be used in a networked network of several transporters.
